Today while I was walking in town, I noticed a strange man in a suit staring at me. He was really pale and bald. When I talked to him, he didn't say anything. It started to freak me out.
So I decided to go up to him and see why he was staring at me like that and that it bothered me. The man was rather old and said that he was just lost in space and hard of hearing in his left ear. He apologized and we talked for a little bit. He was on his way home from a funeral and started walking down memory lane. He turned out to be a sweet old man. I feel guilty for being so paranoid.
Later I found more bags in trees. It's confusing me. Are these kids trying to imitate that internet creepypasta thing, Slenderman? If so, it's creeping me out big time.
If it's the real thing, I'll be pissed off.

Hiking is so fun
Sorry for the delay on this post, I've just has some stuff come up and it's taken a lot of my time.
Anyways, the hike last Friday was great! I walked along the river near by house. Unfortunately it was slightly flooded from all the rain we had recently, so I couldn't get very close to it. I spent some time just relaxing and drawing in my sketchbook while listening to the birds chirp. I drew my rendition of a Wendigo, but unfortunately I don't have a scanner at the moment, so I can't submit it right now. I'll be getting one this Monday though
Anyways, I decided to go home after I saw what looked like bear tracks on the ground. On the way home, I saw some bags handing in trees dripping with some kinda red stuff. I guess it was just the local teenagers goofing off or something. It reminded me of something I read on the internet though, I can't remember what.
On the way home, I saw a little group of deer grazing in the forest. I accidentally scared them off after I tripped on my shoelace (I'm a clutz), but it was just a treat to see them.
Overall it was a good day. I wonder what those kids planned to do with those bags though?

New favorite myth
Today after work I looked for mythology around my area. I found this:
http://www.monstropedia.org/index.php?title=Wendigo
Apparently from what I've heard, some of the older locals claimed that a Wendigo lives around the river near by.
I'm quite interested in this myth. A near indestructible cannibal spirit? With it's own psychosis named after it? It's hard to get any cooler than that. I'm going to try to draw soon (I'm an aspiring artist. Not a very good one though).
This Friday on my day off, I plan on taking a hike in the forest outside of town. When I get back I'll tell you all about it. I don't own a camera or anything, so no pictures unfortunately.

Any myth lovers out there?
I've always loved a good myth when I was a kid. My favorites were urban legends and ghost stories. I hope I can find a good myth for around where I live. I would love to find a good myth or story to read about. If anyone knows any good myths or urban legends, let me know! The scarier the better!
Perhaps I should just lurk around blogger to see what I can find.

Introduction
Greetings friends! My name is Alicia Wendell. I decided to make this blog to record my adventures here in the Alaskan wilderness. I just moved out here because I wanted to go somewhere that had lots of nature and animals. I used to live in a small town in Southeastern Ohio, so small that it's considered a village instead of a town. It was nice, but I wanted to find a place where I would be alone and could quietly observe the wildlife without being disturbed by crazy neighbors having parties every weekend.
I'm pretty excited about all of this. This is my first time living so far from home, and it's also my first ever blog. I hope I'll have a great time in Alaska. I'll see you all next time!
